The Salmonica tables chess board features a beautiful burl look. The table structure is built with carefully selected Oak wood from the finest Lumberyards in South America. The wood is then dried to an 8% level to ensure no cracks and expansions occur later on in the chess tables life.

The dark squares as well as the rest of the table top, is made with Mahogany veneers which are cut in a "crotch" matter. This gives the resulting veneer, a unique "swirly" look. The squares are made with Birds eye maple which give this table's white squares a fine luster. You can also flip the chess board over to make this table a great "occasional multi purpose table".

This table is also upgradeable to a Combination Chess/Backgammon table. Take a look at what the top looks like when you turn the table into an occasional table. Do you see that fancy veneer work? Now take the board/top off and here you have an indented backgammon board and boy this thing is beautifully fancy!! Don't you agree? If you take the time to take a closer look at the backgammon board, you'll see that this is a stunning piece of work! Each backgammon piece of board, is a carefully hand inserted piece of veneer. Not only that, but take a look at the inlay around the board!!

Between the playing squares and the surrounding wood is a beautiful 1/8" wide strip of woods that give the playing board character. The tables drawers are felted to ensure extra protection to your chessmen. Assembly and disassembly of the legs is extremely easy. Table assembly is quick and easy. Legs slide in and are then reinforced with screws.

Other Accents that make this particular table unique are the rounded and inverted table corners, and the incredible detail of the legs of the table featuring a "screw" style design. The accents on the legs and on the table itself are all hand-carved, making each and every table unique in its own way.

The table also features slide out/flushed cup holders for your enjoyment during a game match and for the protection of the table finish. All hardware is brass. This design is exclusive and you will not find it or something similar anywhere else!

The playing board is absolutely beautiful when seen from up close. Assembly and disassembly of the legs is extremely easy.
